Clichéd title, I know. But I couldn't think of a better or more appropriate one for this piece of news. 20 hours of public transport, numerous handshakes and a few nerves later, I'm absolutely chuffed to reveal that I'll be starting work with Erskine Design.
I’ll probably be annoying my friends and family during this upcoming month by acting much like a four year old kid on Christmas Eve. Erskine’s work, culture and people are reasons why I’m so excited and I can’t wait to get stuck in. Also I’m looking forward to living in a city again, and Nottingham certainly seems like a good one.
It means good things for this website as well. Hopefully being in the thick of things with a great agency will prompt me to start writing more frequently about all the things I love. There’s also a few items that need addressing, and I’m hoping a renewed interest will make attend to these.
Good times ahead!

We should have Biscuitrat too. I always like seeing that name around the place. I can see it now. “Hello Mr. Client, this is Biscuitrat”. They’d love that. Sorry Ranjani.
Anyway, hearty welcomes, Greg…

Woo! Welcome on board Greg!

Thanks ladies and gents, I’m super excited. Currently flat hunting at work (you wouldn’t believe how uninspiring the web can be using Internet Explorer 5.5 on Windows 2000!).

The announcements are rolling out now!
If you need any local knowledge while you’re relocating etc - drop me an email and I’ll do what I can - I’ve only been in Nottingham for about 8 years though.
Good luck.

Congratulations Greg.... Im sure you will be inspired working with Erskine and will look forward to seeing your work and development.
Steven Hambleton // 08/11/07
Congratulations. You have joined a company on the up and up and heavily involved in the Expression Engine community.
Now tell Colly to get off his fat arse and get back to Jambor-ee!
Jamie // 08/11/07
Just so you know Steve, Colly has nothing to do with Jambor-ee.
Maybe you should think about giving something back to the community yourself?
Steven Hambleton // 08/11/07
Hi Jamie,
Sorry my mistake! I’ve seen him contribute so I assumed he had something to do with it.
I’d love to contribute something but I don’t class myself as good as you guys yet. I have learnt a lot from the articles on Jambor-ee.
Perhaps (if it is permissable) an EE style behind the iron curtain series of articles on how you tackled some your big projects such as Frieze (which looks awesome by the way!)
Colly // 08/11/07
...and less of the “fat arse” if you don’t mind.
Brian Coult // 08/11/07
hehe… made for amusing reading in my inbox today this… :-)
Steven Hambleton // 08/11/07
@Colly I’m sure you don’t really have a fat arse.
@Jamie Some of us are quite passionate about reading new stuff on EE seeing that there are no hard and fast rules on how to best use it. We therefore like to get inside knowledge from those that use it at an advanced level.
I guess you are the Jamie Olivers of EE. A lot of people can cook but only a few have the inspiration to combine things in a unique way.
Like I mentioned before, I’d love to contribute. In fact I emailed a link to an OpenSearch plugin I created to help people search the docs via Firefox and IE7 but nothing was put on the site…
Perhaps the guys at EE wouldn’t mind duplicating their articles at Jambor-ee?

Does this look like a forum? Eh??
Greg // 09/11/07
Actually, I’m quite liking all these comments for a change, carry on.
Steven Hambleton // 09/11/07
@Greg Actually I was going to apologise for taking over from the original topic!
Greg // 09/11/07
No worries mate, the Jamie Olivers of Expression Engine made me chuckle into my tea..
Brian Coult // 09/11/07
And im the Gordon Ramsay.... find a pair of bollocks! :-)
Sorry couldnt resist Greg.
Steven Hambleton // 09/11/07
Mmm I might have a cup of tea right now actually.
