The Blog

Just a few bits

Primarily, the new Team Sangreal website has been successful launched over the last over the last hour. Being a part of this close-knit gaming community, it's making me feel nice and warm inside to receive nice compliments from the other members. As with most medium to large projects, there are few things to smooth over (I think I've fixed most of the layout/IE problems), but it's still looking good. Check it out. There's also a brief write up of this project in the work section, of course.

FOWD

The Future of Web Design conference was (from my perspective as a conference virgin) a success. Apart from some of the flash-based presentations (including websites created in alien languages - how that helps to sell a product I don’t know) and the sales pitches from Adobe and Microsoft, the speakers were all excellent. Highlights include Andy Clarke, who seemed to command the undivided attention of the whole room, Ryan Singer, whose articulation of ideas and confidence was inspiring, and the Future of Web Design panel at the end, which included many of my favourite designers.

The only bad part of my day was lunch. Walking around Kensington High Street (which isn’t my kinda place anyway) trying to find anywhere that wasn’t a Starbucks, Cafe Nero or similar proved impossible. How I missed the small sandwich shops where you get a sandwich, coffee and a chat for a few quid. But I guess that’s just London.

More Work

I’m not if I should talk about this or not yet, so I’ll be vague. They’ll be more work coming soon, and I’m very excited about it. One of my biggest projects yet I believe, and designed in the smallest amount of time (competition deadlines!) Anyway, more on this soon.
