
Cloverfield is a film that has drawn many similarities with The Blair Witch Project due to the nature of it's filming, but because of the nature of the plot, it's a bastard of a film to review without giving anything away.

A film combining the talents of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp has a certain expectation attached to it, and this is no exception. It's one of the most anticipated films of the year, and as a particularly large fan of the aforementioned chaps, I was excited.

Lust, Caution: A tale of espionage and love set during the China/Japanese wars throughout the 1940s. Ang Lee's second controversial film in a row, this time the film's graphic sexual nature making Daily Mail readers tut loudly into their tea.

A film that has been dubbed by press 'the best gangster film since Goodfellas'. A very bold statement (since there's been a few crackers since 1990ish), and mostly true. A more accurate summation would probably be 'one of the best gangster films since Goodfellas'.

Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino are two of the coolest directors on the planet, and I'm a rather large fan of their films. Planet Terror is one half of the double feature they put together that managed, somehow, not to get mentioned in pubs or talked about in the office, nor did it set fanboys into a frenzy. I for one, do not know why.

The sequel to the Russian film Night Watch is Day Watch, a beautiful depiction of modern day Moscow complete with an undercover world of supernaturalism. People were walking out of the cinema half way through, but even the spilling of my cheese and chilli nachos on my lap wouldn't have torn my eyes away.
